Watch Michelin-starred chefs cook up a storm through eight key activities featured in the 8-day long culinary event, starting from 15th September and ending on the 22nd with an intense two-day chef Culinary Showdown.
The 8 Michelin-starred chefs plus 8 chef maestros highlight this year’s culinary spectacle and hail from more corners of the world than ever before, each chef bringing their own unique flairs and cultural influences.
This year’s 8th Edition, will spice up the fun with new cooking classes, weekend Michelin dinners, fusion Dim-Sum, traditional Kaiseki and a two-day event of the Culinary Showdown. “We hope you are SO ready to feel amazed and I cannot be more proud of the role SO Sofitel Bangkok has played in this city’s evolution.” said Jean-Francois Brun, SO GM of SO Sofitel Bangkok.
All the way from the world-famous oyster cultivation area Marennes-Oléron in the French coast, Chef Jacques Cocollos leads The Love of Oyster at MIXO on the 15th. The Gaggenau Kitchen comes alive on the 16th and 20th as the only female from Iron Chef Thailand, Chef Thananya Kaikaew joins hands with Chef Piti Saengmanee, the Hotel’s Executive Sweets & Savory Chef on the 16th and 20th to teach signature dessert favorites from soufflés to chocolate lava cakes. Returning Chef Nicolas Elalouf of Man Mo will be on hand on the 17th as he throws together an exciting “The House of Dim Sum” by using European ingredients into the authentic Chinese creation, handcrafted and delicious in one bite. And for the first time in Thailand, 1 Michellin-starred chef Takatomo Izumi of Jiki Miyazawa in Kyoto plates up a series of exquisite Japanese traditional dishes matched with wine or sake on The Night of Kaiseki over at their Park Society restaurant on the same night.
Watch the storm get fiercer in the SO AMAZING CHEFS, THE CULINARY SHOWDOWN on the 18th and 19th of September in the Ballroom. Sit down for a four course dinner with a glass of wine as 16 highly-rated chefs go knife-to-knife in a two-day competition.
Returning is the CHEESE@SO, THE SO AMAZING CHEFS EDITION with its cheese-making savoir-faire, Les Frères Marchand, one of the oldest food artisans in Eastern France. For one-night-only on Friday, September 20th, cheese connoisseurs will get to please their discerning palate with rare cheeses such as the creamiest aged parmesan reggiano, fruity époisses de Bourgogne matured in white Burgundy wine, Normandy camembert with a rich tang and so much more.
It’s not a good meal without a good drink; hence a revamp of Drink ‘N’ Brunch SO AMAZING CHEFS edition. With superstar chefs – Nicolas Elalouf, Rob Van Der Veeken, Thananya Kaikaew, Simon Scott, Maria Jose San Roman, Patrice and Phillipe Marchand and Jacques Cocollos– taking over the kitchen at Red Oven, Sunday boozy brunch takes a completely different meaning.
