I find idioms interesting. An idiom being a term or phrase whose meaning cannot be deduced from its literal definition but instead refers to a figurative meaning that is known only through common use.
When I think about the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort & Spa, two idioms come to mind, “The best of both worlds” and “Having your cake and eating it too.”

The InterContinental Hua Hin Resort has two wings. Its BluPort Wing is attached to the beautiful and impressive BluPort Hua Hin Resort Mall. With over 70,000 square meters it features international retail shops, a department store, gourmet market, restaurants galore and a Cineplex.

The InterContinental’s BluPort Wing comprises 40 gorgeous rooms and suites, furnished in a contemporary Thai design with an emphasis on true luxury lodging and comfort. The BluPort wing has its own picturesque swimming pool and all-day dining restaurant, Le Colonial.

Where the idioms kick in is that in addition to the InterContinental’s shopping mall side, the InterContinental also has a Beach Wing which features guest rooms, suites and villas plus luxurious amenities all overlooking the gulf of Thailand.

The resort’s Beach Wing contains 118 rooms and suites which range in size from 45 to 138 square metres, some with private pools and deck areas. This wing also offers La Residence Hua Hin, a private, two-storey Thai-Victorian mansion epitomizing opulence and grandeur. All accommodations feature lavishly appointed bathrooms, plush furnishings as well as stylish decor enhanced by the works of local designers and artisans.

Club InterContinental is the next level of service which entitles you to a wide range of benefits such as personalized service from their butler team, private check in and check out at the Club InterContinental® Lounge, three options for breakfast, non alcoholic beverages and light refreshments available all day, superb complimentary afternoon tea and daily complimentary pre-dinner cocktails and canapes.

It is in the Beach Wing that you will find Spa InterContinental which is the ultimate haven of respite and rejuvenation. Here you can indulge in their signature treatments, massages, scrubs and facials. Something new at Spa InterContinental is their Spa Membership program.

Dining options at the InterContinental’s Beach Wing are plentiful.  PIROM is where you can savor the authentic delicacies of Thailand and where fresh Hua Hin seafood and local produce and herbs are transformed into pure culinary pleasure by their expert chefs.  LEE LA BAR exudes an elegant and debonair atmosphere where you can indulge in their premium cocktails while the live jazz trio lights up the evening.

The InterCon’s AZURE BAR is the perfect place in Hua Hin to hangout accompanied by panoramic views over the Gulf of Thailand, with your favorite cool tunes from their resident DJ while sipping cocktails inspired by Joseph Boroski.

Joseph Boroski

Boroski pioneered bespoke cocktails in Thailand with his Bangkok speakeasy, J.Boroski. He now brings the same vanguard approach to coastal Thailand with a curated selection of imaginative classics. Fresh ingredients, many locally sourced, combined with carefully selected spirits and a large measure of craft mean a superior drinking experience. For Joseph’s AZURE BAR creations, Boroski has taken inspiration from diverse ports of call, including the Amalfi coast, Cape Town and the French Riviera. AZURE BAR is Open daily from 5.00 p.m. – 10.30 p.m. on the weekday and from 5.00 p.m. – 00.00 a.m. on the weekend’s.
Their Swim-up POOL BAR offers ice-cold beers, refreshing thirst-quenchers, exotic cocktails and light bites.

AZURE is the InterContinental’s popular oceanside restaurant with outstanding views from its beach setting and roof deck to match the quality of its cuisine. AZURE’s menu is inspired by the unique character of the location and a commitment to using fresh local seafood and vegetables. The menu also supports the hotel’s commitment to local sustainability by making the most of locally-grown fruits and vegetables, with top-quality produce including meats from nearby farms as well as fresh caught seafood supplied by the area’s surrounding fishing villages. Diners can play their part in supporting this commitment while feasting at Azure’s signature Raw Bar, where local island oysters and jumbo prawns are showcased alongside premium imported delicacies. It’s a true Farm-and-Sea-to-Table dining experience to nourish both body and spirit, all in a relaxing beachfront setting, from sun-up to lights out.Function rooms in the resort’s Beach and BluPort wings provide ideal venues for business gatherings and social occasions of all types including weddings. Highly flexible spaces can be configured for private conferences, cocktail receptions, gala banquets and many other events. In addition to main function rooms, meeting and event facilities include a 335-square-metre ballroom for up to 200 guests and a 3,200-square-metre outdoor courtyard for up to 500 guests; both ballroom and courtyard provide full banquet service. All venues feature the latest audio-visual and communications technologies. Moreover, every gathering at InterContinental® Hua Hin benefits from an on-site events team who assist organisers in ensuring a successful and enjoyable occasion.
