This past November marked the celebration of the 13th Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade, a show which extended across three days and was packed with delightful events. Hosted by Kwanchai Paphatpong, the president of the Vintage Car Club of Thailand at the Sheraton Hua Hin, it was a fantastic way of spending a great weekend, from Friday all the way till Sunday.
Registration began early at seven in the morning in Bangkok at the Westin Grande Sukhumvit and an hour and a half later, the cars set off to Hua Hin escorted by the police. After donating money and necessary accessories to the Christian Foundation for the Blind in Thailand, which falls under His Majesty the King’s patronage, the motorcade stopped for lunch at Mae-Luan, in Khao Yoi, Phetchaburi. Upon arrival and check in at the Sheraton, the day came to a close with interviews to the different car owners, after which came a wonderful barbecue.
After breakfast on Saturday, the expedition made its way to the majestic Rajabhakti Park and the Sheraton Pranburi Villas. Lunch was served at the Dalah restaurant, after which the parade was made ready at five o’clock. Dressed in their Gatsby styled costume, the participant put on a wonderful display of class. After a brief group photo, a cocktail party would follow to mark the wonderful occasion and then would ensure a gala dinner at “The Chandelier”, a wonderful night filled with great moments, food, drinks and charm.
Listed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand as a calendar event, it boasted of over fifty vintage cars which ranged between three eras: pre-World War Two, Post-Wold War Two and classic cars. The theme, as for the gala dinner was “Greeting the Gatsby” and was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to showcase their class.
Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa’s hotel manager, Mr. Sitthirat Hothongkam, had the following kind words for the public: “The Resort is very pleased to have been given the honor and trust by Vintage Car Club of Thailand to play a part in “The 13th Vintage Car Parade 2015” as Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade has been renowned for over 10 years. And is regarded as another highlight that the locals and regular tourists look forward to.
In this regard, The Sheraton Hua Hin and Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas are fully confident that we have the potential and are ready both in terms of venues and team of professionals, including good cooperation from Tourism Authority of Thailand. All of which is vital to help drive, innovate and add value to the distinctiveness of vintage cars and make them become more interesting to the broader community […] The door is open to welcome everyone.” He concluded.
All in all, the 13th Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade was a great success and a fantastic show for those attracted to extravagant and grand lifestyle of old age cars.
