There’s good news for: 1. Londoners who miss London. 2. People who want to go to London but don’t want to go through the ten hour flight business. 3. Anyone who wants to visit a wonderfully established community mall themed in the style of truly authentic English class.
Located in Sukhumvit 77’s On Nut, it sits between Soi 37 and Soi 39 and has been open for little over a year now. Truly well thought out, it possesses every major icon (though obviously at a minor scale) that gives London its authenticity. Pickadaily Bangkok is the new big concept in town!
What do you think of when you think of London? Fish and Chips? Say no more. There are a number of establishments themed in London’s typical taverns that will serve you just that. Typical English Earl Grey? You will get that too. A first floor filled with wonderful individual establishments as well as famous chains such a True Coffee means that you will have an array of food and beverages to choose from during your visit there.
What else evokes feelings of London? The Tube? Pickadaily hasn’t quite nailed this one yet, but access through the BTS is the easiest way to get there. Come out through Exit 1 and a short walk thereon will take you right to the location. Alternatively you can also take a taxi, which will take you straight there. As you arrive, you will be greeted by the iconic red, white and blue sign outside all London’s Tube stations.
Another part of London you cannot overlook is the fashion. Pickadaily has an array of boutiques where one can go purchase stylish clothing items both for men and women alike, be it shirts, shorts, skirts or dresses, you can be sure to find it in Pickadaily’s second floor.
London wouldn’t be London without the sight of its most renowned structure: the majestic and imposing Big Ben tower clock, which keeps every Londoner aware of the time. Pickadaily couldn’t be any less, and has an imposing (though not as large) clock at the top of the square to make sure everyone is running according to their schedules.
Amongst other things one can find there are neatly cut spaces of grass, mazing across the floor in wonderful patterns. Adding to the decoration is a large chess board carved into the floor and neatly alternating black squares with green squares composed of grass. Benches to sit and beautifully paved segmented roads complete the wonderful aesthetics. The finishing touch is a bridge, (no not the London Bridge unfortunately) but an equally charming one that unites one part of the mall with the other.
All in all, Pickadaily Bangkok is a wonderful concept and community mall in which to spend a sunny afternoon with your family and or friends. We recommend you to go even if the sky seems a little grumpy however, because London wouldn’t be London without its sulky weather! What are you waiting for?
