Let’s Stay, Away Kanchanaburi Dheva Mantra

    November 24, 2018Updated:November 25, 20185 Mins Read

When going on holiday it is the destination and the sights seen that create the warmest of memories, at least that is normally the case. HOT Magazine’s research team recently returned from a trip to Kanchanaburi and our consensus was that our accommodation was just as memorable as our time spent seeing the sights in and around this historical city.

Due to a recommendation, we booked into the Away Kanchanaburi Resort & Spa and were so pleased we did. Situated on 37 rai of riverfront land, the resort is stunning. Based on the architecture of King Rama VI’s Maruekhathaiyawan Palace, commonly known as the Teak Wood Palace located between Hua Hin and Cha Am, the Resort offers 104 rooms & suites.

Walking thru their doors you feel like you have been whisked away to a serene tropical paradise that is rich in historical ambiance. Away Kanchanaburi Dheva Mantra’s lavish accommodations feature wood carvings and exquisite artwork that captures the beauty of a bygone Colonial era. It is a place that is peaceful, exotic, and full of fairy tale charm.

Away Kanchanaburi offers 7 room types ranging in size from a generous 52 square meters for their Superior and Deluxe rooms to 232 square meters for their Presidential Suite. Not feeling quite presidential, we checked into their Grand Suite and were very pleased with its substantial size of 118 square meters. All areas were spacious, from the separate bedroom and bathroom to the lounge and very large outdoor deck that overlooked the river and their floating rice barge restaurant. The suite also included a second guest toilet which is a nice extra.

The Rice Barge is the hotel’s signature restaurant which redefines the tide of authentic Thai cuisine. The crux of their menu features the freshest and most seasonal fish sourced from the local waters in addition to exciting and authentic Thai cuisine from all four provinces of Thailand.

Tiara is the hotel’s all day restaurant where you can start your day off with a delectable buffet breakfast. Their lunch and dinner menu delves into a vast array of culinary classics from all over the World. In addition to a menu of innovative dishes they also offer an excellent selection of fine wines.
Their Terrace restaurant is also an all day dining destination as well as the perfect place to enjoy Afternoon Tea or cocktails.

PRIVÉ is their exclusive wine bar and karaoke lounge with a decor that will make you feel like you have stepped back into the 80’s. Here you can delve into their Sommelier’s selection of fine Grand Cru Classe wines or into the world of delightful cocktails. You can enjoy your libations in the lounge area or choose one of their private rooms for a night of karaoke.

Being ensconced in such tranquility brings thoughts of a pampering spa visit and the Away Kanchanaburi’s Le Dheva Spa does not disappoint, offering spa and treatment packages from around the world. Four secluded rooms with luxury bathtubs along with other facilities are the perfect place to enjoy organic Thai Herbal scrubs and massages to modern western treatments. The hotels signature treatment is called the LE DHEVA massage, which is their most comprehensive massage, combining long, rhythmic strokes with warm, aromatic essential oils in order to bring about a harmonious symphony of relaxation.

When you are in the mood to bump up your heart rate you can always visit their fully equipped Techno Gym fitness center which feature a world-class kinesis machine, along with state-of-the-art strength and cardio machines. Their on-site personal trainers also specialize in instructing Thai kickboxing classes, yoga and cross-training.

Although the property is outstanding for holiday travelers, it’s just as great for those wanting to conduct business or put together work-related functions utilizing their state-of-the-art facilities. Whether you are visiting historic Kanchanaburi from Bangkok or another major business center, you and your colleagues will feel worlds away from the fast paced city lifestyle. You will be able to unwind in lush, tropical surroundings while conducting business in a professional facility. The hotel offers 3 meeting rooms with 2 capable of accommodating up to 300 for cocktails and 140 to 200 for dinner.

The property is also a unique setting to exchange vows on your Wedding day. The gorgeous location combined with the resorts unique blend of traditional Thai culture and colonial charm offers a picture-perfect ambiance, full of romance, enchantment and breathtaking scenery. Soul mates who wish to host their dream wedding here will fall in love with the atmosphere and the 5-star service. The hotel offers so many visually exciting spaces, it is also the ideal location for pre-wedding photographs and several packages have been put together specifically for this activity.

The Away Kanchanaburi Dheva Mantra Resort & Spa is one of those magical places that will keep drawing you back once you’ve had the opportunity to experience their style of hospitality. When visiting Kanchanaburi don’t miss out on this gem of lodging.
