When you think about where to stay in Hua Hin, the big hotel chain’s always come to mind, but a hotel you should really check out and check-in to is the Marrakesh Hua Hin Resort & Spa. This boutique beachfront resort on 3 rai has just 76 units so your stay is much more of a personal experience.
Marrakesh Hua Hin Resort & Spa is located on one of Hua Hin’s best beaches with fine white sand and no sharp rocks. You can enjoy sunrises and sunsets as if you were on a private beach. The resort is conveniently situated on Patchkasem Road, the main road thru Hua Hin and many of the town’s main attractions such as the Cicada Market, Vana Nava Water Jungle, Sea Pine Golf Course and Market Village.
Marrakesh’s design concept is Neo Moroccan and incorporates classic Moroccan flair with the modern world to maximize your comfort and relaxation. With a touch of Mediterranean elements, the overall architecture boasts opulent elegance with curved and perforated motifs. Contemporary furniture; Moroccan lamps and pillows, Moroccan crafts, vases and brassware are imported from Morocco in order to get the most colorful and liveliest vibe.
Every suite at Marrakesh spans from 55 to 105 square meters to maximize the use of space and ensure luxurious comfort. All suites come with either sizable Jacuzzi’s or private plunge pool’s to entice couples or families with children. There is also separated shower areas with rain showers and dedicated dressing corners. Every room comes fully equipped with amenities and facilities, private balcony and daybeds to enjoy the spectacular view.
There are 4 suite categories at Marrakesh. Their Jacuzzi Suite, of which there are 57, span 55-60 square meters. The seamless and rather unusual style features the bathroom and bed area inside, with the living area and sofa outside for the guest to enjoy the views. The bathroom is stylishly splashed with colors while the bedroom is dressed in subdued white tone for a calmer effect.
For families with children or couples seeking privacy they offer 13 Fountain Pool Suites which are 60 square meters and are all located on the ground level. Here you’ll find oversized terraces and private plunge pools.
If romance is what you have in mind then you’ll want to check into one of their 4 Oceanfront Suites. These are 60 square meters and all have stunning uninterrupted ocean views and each has a massive Jacuzzi right next to the bed or on the private, spacious balcony.
If you are on your honeymoon or would like to pretend to be then you’ll want the keys to one of their 105 square meter Celestial Suites. There are just 2 of these top floor ocean facing suites and both have private roof top decks with 180 degree sea views that are perfect for a private sunset dinner or chillaxing under the stars.
Marrakesh’s all day restaurant is called Al Hamra and is open from 6:30 in the morning until 11 pm. The menu is ala carte as well as buffet. As you would expect you can find Moroccan items on the menu but international dishes can also be had. You can eat indoors or outside on the dining patio or be served poolside.
Speaking of pools, theirs is an infinity pool that looks like it empties into the ocean and it’s the only hotel pool I know that is open 24 hours a day as is their very well equipped fitness center!
I’ve been to many spas but I’ve never seen spa treatments like they offer here at the Noora Spa. Two treatments especially stood out. The first is a massage with hot candles and pure gold powder, which I’m told is an ancient beauty ritual in India, dating back over a thousand years. The second must-try is their red wine bath that relaxes, boosts blood circulation, nourishes the skin and doesn’t give you a hangover. The treatments are available exclusively at Noora Spa. This paradise of pampering is open from 9 am until 10:00pm.
A hidden gem on the beach in Hua Hin is the Marrakesh’s Al Janna Beach Bar which opens at 11AM and continues serving until two in the morning. Al Janna means paradise in Arabic and this place is a slice. Try one (or more) of their 10 signature drinks. With names like “Magic Carpet”, “Prince of Persia” and ‘If Tah Ta Sim Sim” don’t be surprised if you find Ali Baba sitting next to you. For a beach bar I was really impressed with the depth of their food menu and counted over 50 menu items available to choose from. On Friday and Saturday evenings they bring in live music and bring out bean bag chairs to lounge on.
The Marrakesh Hua Hin Resort & Spa is a great escape. If you are coming to Hua Hin then this is the place to check-in to for pampering, relaxation and fun, and not necessarily in that order.
