On Friday March 4th Red Mountain Hua Hin held their Inaugural Charity Gala Dinner at the BluPort Ballroom. Over 240 guests attended the sold out event and it was the first public event to be held at the new ballroom located within the BluPort Wing of the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort.
Guests gathered in the InterCon’s new stunning courtyard garden at the start of the event to socialize amongst friends, listen to live music and of course, take pictures.
Once everyone was inside and seated there was an impressive speech, in Thai, by Red Mountain’s Anthony Kelly with his Thai wife Joy giving the English version. Special guest of honor was Thai Princess ท่านหญิง (หม่อมเจ้า) ประภาพันธุ์ (ภาณุพันธุ์) กรโกสียกาจ
Other special guests who attended included Hua Hin’s Chief of Police, Rear Admiral Commander, Hua Hin’s Deputy Mayor, the President of Prachuab’s Tourism Authority, the Council of Cultural Affairs Hua Hin, the President of the Hua Hin Women’s Club, Rotary and Lion’s representatives, Court of Hua Hin representatives, Cha Am – Hua Hin Tourism Authority and other dignitaries.
After official photo taking the doors were open to the buffet. The InterContinental’s new Executive Chef, Riccardo Ioanna put together a sumptuous buffet for the evening which was thoroughly enjoyed. During dinner there was a Zumba show put on by Khun Tikki and her crew at Zumba Fitness as well as a traditional Thai dancing show.
It wasn’t all about great food and fun however, over 100,000 baht was raised. Anthony and Joy Kelly, owners of Red Mountain, have chosen 3 local charities who will benefit from the event. The funds will be used to purchase Breathing Equipment for the Hua Hin Hospital, a library at the Nong Club School and Toilets for the Army at the Pala U Border Checkpoint.
According to Anthony Kelly, “Joy & I would like to thanks all sponsors for their generous support and all those who attended this inaugural event which due to the success of the evening we hope to be able to make it an annual event”. Be sure to put it on your social calendar when announced in 2017.
