Tennis has taught me so many life lessons and has provided me so many opportunities. I will always be thankful to my parents and brothers for showing me the sport. Since i tried tennis at age of 3, it became my passion.
There are many reasons to recommend you to start playing tennis. Here are my top 5.
1- Tennis is fun! No matter your age. People love playing! You will get to meet great people that could become friends for life. Some of my best childhood memories come from when i was playing junior tournaments and meet my best friends at the club.
2-Tennis teaches you life lessons. You have to learn how to compete, deal with adversity, learn from mistakes, being perseverant, discipline, learning from losing, teamwork, and many other skills that will help you off court.
3-Tennis is a great workout. During a tennis match/practice you will not only burn calories, but will exercise your legs, core, upper body and mind. It is also a great stress releaser and will help you turning off your thoughts.
4- Tennis is diverse- people from all ages, skills, backgrounds could learn the sport and play together. As Nelson Mandela once said”Sport has the power to unite the world in a way little less does…” You could play singles, doubles, mixed doubles and also in many surfaces (Hard court, Clay court, Grass Court, Artificial Grass, Indoors) this makes it very interesting.
5-Tennis is practical- in comparison to other fun sports, you do not need to alot of people to play. You only need one more person and you could have a singles match. A great tennis partner is a wall! If you live next door from me, do not do it.
