Bangkok’s PACE Development never does anything “half way.” After all, they are the developers of the ambitious MahaSamutr Country Club & Luxury Villas development in Hua Hin, a project where they are building out 80 freehold villas, that start at 48MB each. The villas surround a man made 45 rai crystal clear lagoon (Asia’s largest) and includes a lifetime membership to the stunning MahaSamutr Country Club upon purchase.
So, it was with tremendous excitement on Monday August 29th, 2016 that Pace threw a private grand opening party celebrating the completion of its biggest project to date, MahaNakhon, Thailand’s tallest building.
A building of World Class design, it’s distinctive, sculptural appearance has been carefully carved to introduce a three-dimensional ribbon of architectural “pixels” that circle the tower. The pixels were designed to maximize unobstructed panoramas for the residences, offering views of the city and the Chaophraya River.
According to Sorapoj Techakraisri, visionary and Chief Executive Officer of PACE Development Corporation PLC., “The tower provides Bangkok with an iconic architectural landmark as found in the world’s capitals, and also reflects the economic stability of Thailand.”
Bangkok’s sky lit up when PACE organized the exclusive event ‘MAHANAKHON: BANGKOK RISING, THE NIGHT OF LIGHTS. The stunning lightshow and gala evening was enjoyed by not only those in attendance but by tens of thousands of Bangkok-ian’s who viewed the light show spectacle.
Utilizing cutting edge lighting technology from Korea, this one of a kind light show shot beams of lights and lasers racing up the building and shooting out from the high rise floors onto adjacent buildings to create a magnificent visual spectacle the likes of which have never been seen in the Kingdom and which was the talk of the town the following day.
The thank-you concert was held at the ‘MahaNakhon Square, at the base of the tower as a gesture of appreciation to all parties supporting the development from the beginning. Concert goers were brilliantly entertained by acclaimed Spanish tenor José Carreras and famous Thai musical artists, led by Thaitanium, Da Endorphine, Kit the Voice and Nammon Teeranai. Thaitanium performed a new song they wrote especially for the event and all were backed up by the MahaNakhan Philharmonic Orchestra.
Although not performing, International Recording Artist Pharrell Williams was in attendance with a front row seat and his song “Happy” played over the concert hall speakers at the end of the evening. There was no shortage of High Society and Celebrities at the party who might have had an easier time scoring the coveted invitations.
PACE also held a photo contest for video and images of the MahaNakhon lightshow enabling all Bangkok residents to take part in welcoming Bangkok’s new landmark. A total of more than 10 million baht of prizes including 10,000 passes to visit the ‘MahaNakhon Observatory’ and a top prize worth 100,000 baht will be up for grabs, with winners selected on October 1, 2016.
