On Tuesday June 28th, the Grand Dame of Hua Hin, Khun Lizzy, officiated over one of her most highly anticipated and enjoyable MCC events ever. Lizzy started MCC, which stands for Multi-Cultural Community, over three years ago and this time it was held in the ballroom of the new Hua Hin Marriott Resort and Spa. It had been three months since the last MCC event and MCC regulars couldn’t wait to get together again for a great night of socializing, delicious food, entertainment and dancing, all for a great charitable cause.
Mario Hofmann, the Marriott’s Executive Chef, along with his entire team, put on an exemplary buffet accompanied by top notch service. The Marriott’s Amber Kitchen, Big Fish Restaurant and Siam Bakery were all well represented in the fabulous food offerings.
The Marriott team efforts were made even more admirable in that just mere minutes before the start of MCC they were saying good-bye to Her Royal Highness, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The Princess, along with her entire entourage, were guests of the owners of the Hotel, Mrs. Wallapa & Mr. Soammaphat Traisorat, having dinner at their beachfront Big Fish Restaurant.
Over 160 guests attended and all were pleased to be part of another MCC dinner after such a long hiatus. VIP guests included Mrs. Orasa Awutkom, Director of Thailand Tourism Authority, Mr. Montri Choophoo, Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin, Mr. Posith Kruawan, Chairman of the Tourism Authority of Prachuab Khirikhan and Chantal Jauvin, the author of the popular book “The Boy with the Bamboo Heart.”
Brian Anderson was once again masterful as the Master of Ceremony’s making sure the evening ran smoothly. The Hua Hin Cabaret Show entertained guests with their performance and the musical entertainment was provided by the Ace & Friends band.
MCC is a really great event where you will see old friends and meet new ones. For information on the next MCC dinner contact Khun Lizzy at lizzy.huahin@mycity-thailand.com.
