On Tuesday July 5th, HOT Hua Hin Co. Ltd., the publisher of this magazine held a press conference in Bangkok to announce our acquisition of the licenses for five male pageants; Mr. National Thailand, Mr. Tourism World Thailand, Mr. United Continent Thailand, Mr. Continental Tourism Thailand and Mr. Amity International Thailand.
The first pageant, Mr. National Thailand, with the motto “The New Gen of the Future,” will be held in Bangkok on July 28th. From this pageant five winners will be picked, one each to represent the Kingdom in the National Competitions for Mr. National, Mr. Tourism World, Mr. United Continent, Mr. Continental Tourism International and Mr. Amity International. The International Pageants will be held in the Philippines, Indonesia & Myanmar.
Ms. Tanya Siri Vijitsomphong, Editor of HOT Magazine, as well as the host of her TV show “Mouth to Mouth”, will oversee all pageant operations, along with her team Carima Khakhao, & Thanyasa Thajinda.
Ms. Siri Vijitsomphong was quoted as saying “Many people have asked about our motto “The New Gen of the Future,” well, most male pageants care only that their Country winner go on to be the Pageant Global winner. For us, we are different, our winner must speak English well, have a great personality, be smart and most importantly be the best person to represent Thailand to the world. Our team running the Pageants consists of successful women and we will run the pageants differently, it won’t be business as usual.”
Thailand Socialite Mrs. Sumanee Guna- Kasem, wife of former Thailand Diplomat and Permanent Representative to the United Nation’s, His Excellency Khun Pracha Guna-Kasem attended the press conference and spoke praising the ideals of the pageant organizers regarding education, English skills & personality. She went on to discuss gender inequality and said “Gender inequality is not a woman’s issue, it’s not a man’s issue it is a human issue, it affects us all”.
Also attending was Ms. Chalomjit Chankate, a third runner up at the 1990 Miss Thailand World Competition. Khun Chalomjit went on to model and act and now owns the very popular HOT Man Factory, a personal training gym in Bangkok used by Thai Celebrity’s, Actors and High-So’s. Ms. Aniporn Chalermburanawong, Miss Thailand Universe 2015, trained at the HOT Man Factory for six months, 6 days per week, before competing in the Miss Universe Contest held in Las Vegas where she made the Top 10 and won the prize for the best National Costume.
Emcee for the press conference was Ms. Chutima Durongthej, a former Miss Thailand Universe herself, she competed in the Miss Universe Contest held in Nassau, Bahamas in 2009 and won the title Miss Photogenic Universe.
